Once you've tracked your baby's intake with Coro, you might find you have extra milk to store. Keeping your expressed milk safe is vital for your baby's health.

General Storage Guidelines

For healthy, full-term babies, follow these "Rule of 4" guidelines:

  • Room Temperature: Up to 4 hours.
  • Refrigerator: Up to 4 days (stored at the back, not in the door).
  • Freezer: Up to 4 months (optimally), though up to 6-12 months is acceptable in a deep freezer.

Warming Your Milk

  • Thawing: Thaw frozen milk in the fridge overnight or by placing the container in a bowl of warm water.
  • Never Microwave: Avoid using a microwave to warm breast milk, as it creates "hot spots" and can destroy valuable nutrients.
  • Use Quickly: Once thawed, milk should be used within 24 hours.

Tips for Success

  • Label Everything: Always write the date on your storage bags or bottles.
  • Small Batches: Store milk in 60-120ml amounts to avoid wasting any of that "liquid gold"!
